ZIMMERMAN’S JURY: DAMN THE FACTS, IT’S THE LAW!

“Serving on this jury has been a highly emotional andphysically draining experience for each of us,” the statement said. “The death of a teenager weighed heavily on our hearts but in the end we did what the law required us to do.” – The Zimmerman’s Jury.

What law requires the jury to find Trayvon guilty of defending his life as Zimmerman took it?  A jury’s deliberation is neutral of the law; has the rights; and the power to decide the faith of the victim or perpetrator based on the facts and not the law.

The jury was influenced by the Stand Your Ground Law only; they were affected by this law and felt their duty was to decide the fate of Trayvon accordingly.  They surrendered the facts in exchange for the law; this proves without doubt; their action as defenders of the law caused a miscarriage of justice.

I would submit to the world that this jury didn’t have a clue as to their responsibility for what amount to America’s finest hour: the jury system of justice.  They in fact; decide to act out their own prejudices as well as what’s well known as the “Imaginary White Man” mentality.  The pressure to preserve this terrible; but very true thinking process would cause anyone in America to do things that wouldn’t ordinarily happen.

The Zimmerman’s jury doesn’t have the right to remain protected from the citizens that was supposed to represent; they failed them in every sense of the word.  They don’t have a right to a quiet life or the their privacy.  They shirked their responsibility by circumventing the ways and methods of juries before them.

This writer and many of my friends have served on juries and many of them feel as I do; while serving; we made our decisions based on the facts; although we had the law in our hands; as a violation; it wasn’t the rule for making our decision.  Nevertheless; if we had ruled according to the law every accused would be guilty or the outcome of every trial would result as is the Zimmerman’s jury trial – while on trial; the true victim becomes the perpetrator.
